The City of Highland Park Resiliency Division provides services, including short-term counseling, case management, and resource navigation, to survivors and anyone impacted by the Highland Park shooting on July 4, 2022. The Resiliency Division can help connect you with services that can support your mental and emotional health as well as local assistance for a variety of needs that frequently occur after trauma, such as financial, utility, food, and healthcare assistance.

Resiliency Division Manager Madeline (Maddie) Kati, LCSW provides initial intake and resource navigation services. She will ask questions to understand your needs and make recommendations for services that can support you. Once connected to the agencies that can help, Maddie will follow up with you to see if the City can help you manage these different services and providers (case management.)

While some services, such as financial assistance through the State of Illinois Crime Victim Compensation fund, do have eligibility requirements that must be met, the City recognizes that secondary trauma has had a significant impact on our community. Individuals who were not present at the parade may experience trauma responses and may benefit from support services.
